SCCVolunteers Program

"Without a sense of caring, there can be no sense of community"

Anthony J. D'Angelo

Fall and Spring Community Service Fairs

At community service fairs, agencies (see the list of the Central Florida Community Service Agencies) from around the county and the state are brought to campus in order to showcase the diverse range of community service opportunities available to our students.

Annual Baby Apparel, Clothing, and Food Drives

In this program, SCC students organize and collect all kinds of baby items, food, toys, clothing, etc. In the past, SCCVolunteers has collected over 1,000 pounds of supplies.

Habitat for Humanity

SCCVolunteers has committed to join forces with this outstanding organization by setting up at least one "Habitat for Humanity" project per semester.

Blood Drives

SCCVolunteers, conscious of the constant need around the state for qualified blood donors, has decided to hold at least one blood drive per semester. Last semester, 80 SCC students donated blood at the SCCVolunteers Blood Drive.

SCCVolunteers Leadership Team

This select group of student leaders is responsible for promoting and organizing community service projects on and off campus. Any student interested in being part of the SCCVolunteer Leadership Team must fulfill the following criteria:

  • Have a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher.
  • Participate in an extensive interviewing process where you must demonstrate a true commitment to community service.
