Upcoming Grants Training

February 1, 2008: Improving Grants Management for Successful Project Implementation

External grant funding (state, federal and private foundations) provides significant resources, used to provide important services for our students and for the community at-large. Recipients of grant funds are feeling increased pressure to achieve project goals and be held accountable for every project dollar spent. Federal and State funding agencies now demand high thresholds of accountability in every aspect of grant management.

The purpose of this workshop is to provide project directors and administrators with a clear understanding of their individual responsibilities as viewed by funding agencies, as well as to explore the nuts and bolts of internal controls as they pertain to audit readiness.

Seminar Facilitator:

Toni DeMaglio is currently the Grant Compliance Officer at Valencia Community College. In this capacity, she works closely with project directors/administrators and the finance office to bridge the gap between the activities and financial aspects of project development and management. Her pervious grants management experience includes serving as project director for federal, state and private grants. She has completed certificate training in grants management.
