![]() Computer Programming and AnalysisComputer programming and system analysis are two of the fastest growing occupations in Florida and nationwide. The Bureau of Labor Statistics ranks each in its "Top 5" list of fastest growing positions. A recent survey by the Information Technology Association of America estimated that 10 percent of the information technology jobs nationwide are unfilled. The Computer Programming and Analysis Programs at SCC combine programming, system design, system analysis, database and networking courses to provide a well-rounded curriculum with the depth necessary to prepare you for a position as a programmer, programmer/analyst, system analyst, technical support analyst or database analyst. Seminole Community College offers two two-year programs leading to an Associate of Science degree and a one-year program leading to a technical certificate. You can take day, evening or weekend classes taught by knowledgeable faculty with business experience. Campus classes utilize state-of-the-art hardware and software and many of them are available online. The A.S. degree gives you the foundation to continue your education at a four-year university or enter the job market as a programmer or programmer/trainee.
Hands-on activities are the foundation of the programs, and graduates are well prepared to take certification examinations to become Microsoft Certified Developers (MCSD), Microsoft Certified Professionals (MCP) or Novell Certified Network Administrators (CNA). Certification exams can be taken at the SCC Professional Testing and Certification Center. |
