Ford Automotive Student Service Educational Training

SCC: Ford ASSET ProgramThe Ford ASSET (Automotive Student Service Educational Training) program is a partnership between the Ford Motor Company, Ford and Lincoln-Mercury dealers and Seminole Community College that leads to an Associate in Science Degree in Dealer-Specific Automotive Technology. A two-year cooperative program, ASSET is designed to develop entry-level service technicians for Ford and Lincoln-Mercury dealerships. Students alternate between classroom/lab courses on campus and part-time work experience in local dealerships. Laboratory activities are designed around the newest Ford vehicles and carry a heavy emphasis on proper diagnostic and repair procedures. Advanced and professional courses provide the student necessary skills in mathematics, reasoning and communication.

ASSET is widely recognized as one of the top automotive technician training programs in the nation. Graduates have begun lucrative careers providing a high level of service competency and efficiency to Ford and Lincoln-Mercury Dealerships.

Seminole Community College has won national recognition for the quality of its automotive programs. It was ranked second in 1996 for both affiliated and non-affiliated programs, first in 1997 for the non-manufacturer affiliated, and first in 1998 for the manufacturer-affiliated ASSET program.
